Come join us to further beautify Fountain Walk:

For now, we will be focusing on the dirt areas from the landing in the middle of the walk, down to the steps.

Two Opportunities

  • Saturday 6 September
When: 9am-11am – Remove existing plants and prepare soil
Where: Meet at Fountain Walk at the mailbox on The Circle

PLEASE RSVP – We want to have tools for you

  • Wednesday 10 September
When: 8am-Noon – Dig holes and put in new plants
1pm – Lunch provided by the City of Berkeley at Live Oak Park
After lunch (an hour or two) – Continue planting
Where: Meet at Fountain Walk at the mailbox on The Circle

PLEASE RSVP – We want to have tools and food for you

I am very excited to share with you that Mike Gray (Friends of the Fountain and Walk board member) and Pam Boland (Senior Landscape Gardener for the City of Berkeley) have been coordinating on a project to install plantings along Fountain Walk on Wednesday 10 September.  Pam and other City staff will join us.

Since our first Saturday of the month landscape maintenance falls just prior to this date, I would like to recruit as many people as possible to show up on Saturday 6 September to help remove some existing plants and prepare the soil.

If you will be able to join us for either or both dates, please let me know.  Pam has offered to provide shovels, gloves, buckets and other tools, so I will need to let her know how many to provide.

Thank you!  Sara Holmes, President
