Friends and neighbors:
The holiday season is here, and the Fountain at The Circle has donned its annual holiday finery.
Here’s a sampling of images of volunteers and neighbors turning out on Saturday, Dec. 2 (the first Saturday of every month is our scheduled volunteer maintenance day — come join us!) to add lighted swags of greenery and wreaths and kippahs to the bear cubs, and the resulting tableau.
FOFW is very grateful to all those in Berkeley and beyond who support its efforts through volunteering or donating. Your efforts help keep the Fountain at The Circle and Fountain Walk in great shape all year-round, so that they can take a well-deserved bow each year at this time.
This holiday season marks the start of the third decade of the reconstructed Fountain at The Circle and refurbished Fountain Walk. Elements of these landmark structures date back to the beginning of the previous century, and the generosity and support of people like you have ensured that they continue to be maintained and improved more than a century later.
Friends of the Fountain and Walk is your partner with the City of Berkeley in all matters involving the fountain and walk. Your tax-deductible donations make possible everything from emergency repairs to the lighting and decorations that dress up The Circle each holiday season. These ongoing repairs and special touches augment what the city is able to do, and help keep our neighborhood treasures a joy for the entire community.
Our warmest wishes to you for a wonderful holiday season!
