March 26, 2015 | THIRTY-SEVENTH DAY – FOUNTAIN REPAIRS

Leave your thoughts | Categorised in:

Today was the thirty-seventh day of the repairs to the fountain. Here is what was done, followed by some photos:

City Parks Department staff tested the pumps to see if the water would come out of the top (crown jet fountainhead) as before. It does not, so there will have to be some adjustments made to the pipes. Staff cleaned the main pump filter basket. There is still sediment and debris left in the plumbing lines, and staff will need to remove this.

City Parks Department staff removed the fence around the fountain. It was there to protect the newly painted surface until it had dried and cured.

City Parks Department staff will need to work on other projects tomorrow, so they will work on the fountain some time next week.

Thank you for your patience, and for your help in making this happen. Please follow my progress reports. Scroll down on this blog for details on the work and why it’s needed.
