October 31, 2014 | VOLUNTEER – Join Our Group Tomorrow

It appears that the rain will dissipate by 9am tomorrow, Saturday 1 November. Please come and join the monthly maintenance, after the rain stops!

I will arrive before 8am (unless it is raining, and then I will arrive later) to unload the tools, pick up trash, remove graffiti, put the 4 yard debris bins out and see what needs to be done.

For those of you who are joining us for the first time, feel free to bring any favorite gloves or tools, however, I do supply those things.

If you are unable to make it 1 November, there is another opportunity: Next Saturday, 8 November, Pam Boland (City Parks) has registered with the Berkeley Project Day to use UC students to replant the 13 terra cotta pots around The Circle with succulents (Duddlyea) and red flowering ivy geraniums. We will start about 9-9:30am and lunch and water will be provided.

We will also work on the area at the base of Fountain Walk steps (to the left as you go down). There is a large Agave plant that has been encroaching on the sidewalk, and ivy. Those will be removed, and Pam has purchased hummingbird sage (Salvia spathacea) to plant there.

I look forward to seeing you,

Sara Holmes
